Pick a channel and it plays. No episode list, no deciding what comes next — PlaylistTV turns the playlists and collections on your own Plex Media Server into channels that simply run.
iPhone · iPad · Apple TV · Mac — one purchase covers them all.
PlaylistTV builds channels from the playlists and collections you already have on your Plex server, then gets out of the way and plays.
Every playlist and every collection on your server becomes a channel. Nothing to set up, nothing to import — if it is on your server, it is in the app.
A playlist plays in the order somebody put it in. A collection can run chronologically or shuffled. Each channel decides for itself.
Stop in the middle of an episode on the Apple TV, carry on from that second on your iPhone. Progress travels through your own iCloud account.
PlaylistTV only reads. It never renames, never deletes, never uploads. Marking a finished episode as watched on your server is the single write it can perform — and it is switched off until you turn it on.
The app tracks what you have seen separately from your server. On a library you have already worked through, that is the difference between a channel that works and one that reports itself finished before it starts.
Universal Purchase across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac. No subscription, no account, no advertising.
One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac, and your progress follows you between them.
There is no account with me, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. PlaylistTV talks to your Plex server and to your own iCloud account, and to nothing of mine. I could not see your library if I wanted to — there is no server of mine for it to reach.
No registration and no account with me.
No usage tracking and no crash-reporting SDKs.
No ad networks, no tracking pixels.
Your data reaches your Plex server and your iCloud — nothing of mine.
Four steps from installing the app to watching your own library like television.
On first launch the app asks you to sign in to Plex and shows a short code. Enter it at plex.tv/link, and your servers appear. Choose one.
The Channels tab lists every playlist and collection on that server. Selecting one starts it. Starting a large channel takes a few seconds while the server assembles the line-up — the app shows a “Tuning in” screen while that happens.
Open a channel’s settings to choose the order, whether it remembers your position, and whether finished episodes are reported back to Plex. Every setting can also be made once for everything under Settings.
Switch on iCloud sync in Settings and your progress, favourites and channel settings follow you between your devices. It uses your own iCloud account; nothing passes through me.
Effective 2026-08-22
PlaylistTV collects nothing about you. There is no account with me, no registration, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party analytics or advertising SDK of any kind. This policy is short because there is very little to describe.
PlaylistTV keeps a local copy of the channel line-ups it reads from your server, plus your own playback progress and settings. This lives on your device. If you switch on iCloud sync, that same data is synchronised through your own iCloud account under Apple’s terms. It is your iCloud, not mine — I have no access to it and no way to request access.
There is no server operated by me. No data is sent to me, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.
The full version is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. I receive Apple’s sales reports, which contain no personal information about you.
The app is rated 4+ and collects nothing, so nothing is collected from children either.
If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it.
A history of every update to PlaylistTV.
First release. Channels from playlists and collections, sequential, chronological and shuffled playback, per-channel settings, iCloud sync across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
